Horizontal and Vertical GTFS Timetables, Fully Mobile-Friendly
Ride Guide’s latest feature release adds horizontal and vertical GTFS timetable formats — both fully responsive, auto-updating, and easy to embed on your website.
Horizontal or Vertical? With Ride Guide Timetables, you can now have it all.
Making public transport easy to understand isn’t just about running buses and trains on time — it’s also about how you show the information. A timetable that’s clear and simple can turn a “huh?” into an “ah-ha!” in seconds.
And now, with Ride Guide, you’ve got more ways than ever to make that happen.
The best of both worlds
We’ve given our GTFS-to-HTML timetables a glow-up. You can now display them in either horizontal or vertical format — whichever works best for your riders and your website.
Horizontal: Our mobile-friendly firstborn
Our original timetable format displayed stops horizontally across the X-axis, putting trip times down the Y-axis — a format that works exceptionally well on mobile.

Vertical: The Classic, now made for mobile
Vertical timetables aren’t new, but making them look great on a phone? That took some work.
This layout flips the axis, putting stops top-to-bottom and trip times across. It feels familiar (like many printed timetables), and for longer routes with lots of stops, it’s tidy and intuitive. Now it’s just as responsive and scroll-friendly as our horizontal version.

No hard choices here
Switching between horizontal and vertical? That’s just a setting in Ride Guide. No need for redesigns, reprints, or heavy sighs from your webmaster. Pick one today, change it tomorrow — it’s that easy.
Timetables that update themselves
Both formats pull live data straight from your GTFS feed and turn it into fully styled HTML timetables. Once they’re embedded on your site, they’ll always be up to date. That means no more PDF uploads, no more mismatched versions, and no more passengers wondering which time is correct.
Imagine if the hardest part of making a timetable was deciding which way it faced.
With Ride Guide Timetables… that’s exactly the case. And honestly, we think that’s a win.
One GTFS feed. Two great formats. Always clear, always mobile-friendly.
Whether your riders prefer to swipe or scroll, Ride Guide makes sure they can find the right time, every time.
